My Academic Activities
I studied in many schools, as many as a dozen school, and took up natural science in my higher secondary school after which I joined undergraduation in the field of Zoology, at the Swami Vivekananda College, way back in the late 80's. After completion, I did a diploma course on Cobal Programming at the Madras Christian College, Tambaram. Later, I joined Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospitals, Pallikaranai, in 1992. After completing the course, I started a dental clinic in Choolai, which I managed for a couple of years. At the same time, I got married and I joined as a teaching faculty (Tutor in the Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology) at Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital. Due to circumstances, I shifted my clinic to the groundfloor apartment at my residence in Choolaimedu for a year. Subsequently while working as a Tutor in Sree Balaji Dental College where I studied BDS, I moved my clinic to a ground floor set-up near the Murugan Temple, at Vadapalani near my apartment. After working for more than five years as a tutor in the oral medicine department where I was engaging classes for third year and final year BDS students, and other college related work including NAAC work, I joined post graduation as the first batch student in the same speciality of Oral Medicine & Radiology which was started in 2007. I completed the course in 2010 and subsequently took up a teaching job as a Senior Lecturer in Tagore Dental College & Hospitals, Rathinamangalam. After engaging classes for third year and final year BDS students for four years, I got promoted as a Reader (Associate Professor) in the same department where I continued to work. Due to circumstances, and opening of a new opportunity, I joined as Professor of Oral Medicine & Radiology, in the Department of Dentistry, at Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, Kanchipuram where I have been working since than completing seven years, till date. Apart from the department position as a Professor and Head (HoD), I had been doing additional responsibility work as an Assistant Resident Medical Officer (ARMO) for a period of > one year, around pre-corona times. Since, the advent of corona, I was relieved of my additional duties and have been left with managing the department of dental surgery, where I am in the capacity of a Professor & HoD. I have since, completed seven years and I upload the general scheme of work I did as a dental professional since my Tutor days as under, for the record.
