Aurora

 Aurora

I shot an arrow into the sky,
It went as high as the polar sky;
There it soft landed in the frozen snow,
To witness colourful lights in a cloudless sky !

Reacting atomic particles with the solar wind,
Cause varying colours of many shades;
Weird and vivid are the colours therein,
That twist and turn and flicker and flame !

Wuthering cold nights of scintillating stars,
That dazzles the eye of the reckoner;
In a circumpolar sky of unending patterns,
Underneath occur the Auroral dance !

That which pleases the eye disturb the Earth,
And even affect radio transmissions;
No wonder man worships the Sun;
Praying not for Coronal Mass Ejections !
