Dumpling

               Dumpling Dumpling Dumpling                The Noisy Dumpling

It's an offering for Lord Ganesha,
Children fight for it -
Parents make them calm;
Dumpling Dumpling Dumpling
the noisy Dumpling.

So sweet and yummy to taste and munch,
And one's hunger is pleasantly quenched;
Its exchanged with love and care -
Dumpling Dumpling Dumpling
the noisy Dumpling.

It helps the national bond of heritage,
And strengthens an age old culture;
And is served with a religious fervour;
Dumpling Dumpling Dumpling
the noisy Dumpling.

Festivals are the mark of this country,
Which boasts an ancient heritage:
Of valor and wisdom, insight and care.
Dumpling Dumpling Dumpling
the noisy Dumpling.

Ganesh Chathurthi is so celebrated,
To help in a common goal of fun and fanfare;
The backbone of this ancient country,
Is its spiritual lineage and light heartedness;
Dumpling Dumpling Dumpling
the noisy Dumpling.

(I wrote this small poem while studying 10th standard, at Tanjore - now a little modified).

Aurora

 Aurora

I shot an arrow into the sky,
It went as high as the polar sky;
There it soft landed in the frozen snow,
To witness colourful lights in a cloudless sky !

Reacting atomic particles with the solar wind,
Cause varying colours of many shades;
Weird and vivid are the colours therein,
That twist and turn and flicker and flame !

Wuthering cold nights of scintillating stars,
That dazzles the eye of the reckoner;
In a circumpolar sky of unending patterns,
Underneath occur the Auroral dance !

That which pleases the eye disturb the Earth,
And even affect radio transmissions;
No wonder man worships the Sun;
Praying not for Coronal Mass Ejections !
